The Combe Fill North Landfill site is the location of a former sanitary municipal landfill in Mt. Olive, New Jersey. The 65-acre area was in use between 1966 and 1978. Combe Fill Corporation purchased the site in 1978. The following year, groundwater beneath the site and in nearby residential wells was found to be contaminated with volatile organic compounds (VOCs), which are potentially harmful contaminants that easily evaporate in the air. Site cleanup finished in 1993. Long-term groundwater and air monitoring are ongoing.
