The 80-acre Tippecanoe Sanitary Landfill, Inc. site is located in Lafayette, Indiana. The site is an inactive landfill. It also includes a wetland. The landfill received about 3.4 million cubic yards of solid waste. In the 1970s, wastes included an industrial sludge that contained elevated levels of polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs). Landfill operations led to soil and groundwater contamination. Following cleanup, operation and maintenance activities and groundwater monitoring are ongoing.
