Public Participation Opportunities
On September 8th, EPA and other federal, state and local partners held a Portsmouth Environmental Health Workshop at the Wesley Community Service Center located at 1701 Elm Ave. Portsmouth, VA 23704. The workshop included free soil-lead screening, free blood-lead screening for children and access to federal, state and local representatives to learn about various environmental health topics.
Community involvement is the process of engaging in dialogue and collaboration with community members. The goal of Superfund community involvement is to advocate and strengthen early and meaningful community participation during Superfund cleanups.
