Public Participation Opportunities
EPA held a Proposed Plan Public Meetring on June 9, 2009, to present EPA's proposed cleanup e; no adverse comments were received, and the proposed plan for cleanup was documented in a Record of Decision (ROD). An Explanation of Significant Differences (ESD) Public Meeting was held on January 28, 2016, to present changes to the ROD. The ESD extended the operations of the onsite hazardous waste injection wells to allow use of those wells to inject hazarous waste liquid leachate for a limited time during the Operations and Maintainance phase.
Community Advisory Group
Through community meetings and public meetings, which were conducted to present EPA's proposed plan for cleanup of the Stie, EPA informed the community of grants to form advisory groups; the community elected not to form any groups.
Site News Archive
This site is in a federally declared county for the Hurricane Harvey response action; EPA responded/inspected the Site as soon as conditions allowed. A site inspection was conducted on September 9, 2017; all contaminated material had been addressed prior to the hurricane through the cleanup; therefore, there was no release of contaminates due to Hurricane Harvey.. The results of the inspection was updated for this site.
Previous Public Participation Opportunities
A public meeting was held in Texas City on June 9, 2009, to present the Proposed Plan for cleanup to the community. At this meeting, representatives from EPA and the TCEQ answered questions about the Site and the remedial alternatives presented in the Proposed Plan. EPA’s responses to the comments received during the public comment period for the Proposed Plan are included in the Responsiveness Summary (Part 3) of the Record of Decision.
