About the Superfund Redevelopment Initiative
This nationally coordinated effort provides EPA and its partners with a process to return Superfund sites to productive use. Learn more at Superfund Redevelopment Initiative.
Redevelopment at the Site
DOE cleaned up properties for unrestricted use, allowing restoration of many properties to their original uses, such as residential, commercial and open space. The site currently includes neighborhoods, a central commercial district, municipal offices, churches, parks and schools.
Economic Activity at the Site
As of December 2019, EPA had data on 98 on-site businesses. These businesses employed 807 people and generated an estimated $68,861,802 in annual sales revenue. View additional information about redevelopment economics at Superfund sites.
