Stay Informed and Involved

In 2009, EPA facilitated the formation of a community advisory group (CAG). The CAG includes members of the local community, environmental groups, residents, local businesses and municipalities. Representatives of EPA, NJDEP and the other government partners routinely attend CAG meetings, which are open to the public and generally held every month or every other month, in order to share site information with the community.

Details on the dates and times of those meetings, along with documents shared at those meetings are accessible online at:
http://www.OurPassaic.org

Project updates and documents are also made accessible online both at the above website and at:
http://www.epa.gov/region02/superfund/npl/diamondalkali

Information regarding the Newark Bay Study Area is accessible online at:
http://www.ournewarkbay.org/

EPA ensures community participation throughout the remedial process by meeting with residents and affected stakeholders, issuing public notices and updating fact sheets. Additionally, an EPA Community Involvement Coordinator is assigned to the site and can address specific community concerns as they arise.
