Superfund Site Profile

www.epa.gov/superfund/olin

Olin Chemical, a 53-acre facility at 51 Eames Street in Wilmington, Massachusetts, made specialty chemicals for the rubber and plastics industry until it closed down in 1986. On-site waste disposal practices have resulted in groundwater contamination both on and off site, and in late 2002 led to the closure of town drinking water supply wells. Site investigations are ongoing.
