Superfund Site Profile
The Nascolite Corporation site is located in Millville and Vineland, New Jersey. From 1953 to 1980, the Nascolite Corporation manufactured polymethyl methacrylate (poly-MMA) sheets, commonly known as plexiglass or acrylic, at the 17.5-acre area. About seven acres were used for production; the rest of the site is wooded. Operators stored waste residues from the distillation of scrap acrylic in buried tanks on site. Liquid wastes leaked from the underground tanks into the surrounding soils and groundwater.
