Superfund Site Profile

The Global Landfill site is located in Old Bridge Township, New Jersey. The 57.5-acre area was used for solid waste disposal from about 1968 to 1984. Drums containing paint, paint thinner and various solvents were buried in the landfill from 1968 to 1977. Groundwater underneath the site has been contaminated by pollutants leaching from the landfill. Under current conditions at the site, potential or actual human exposures are under control. The site’s long-term cleanup is ongoing.
