Superfund Site Profile

The Sidney Landfill site is located in Sidney, New York. The 74-acre area includes a 20-acre former landfill. It accepted municipal and commercial waste, including waste oils, from 1964 until 1972. Following immediate actions to protect human health and the environment, the site’s long-term remedy was put in place. Groundwater treatment and monitoring are ongoing.
