The Orange Valley Regional Groundwater Contamination site is located in Orange and West Orange, New Jersey. The site consists of a contaminated groundwater plume with no identified source.
Public water supply wells were found to contain tetrachloroethylene (PCE), trichloroethylene (TCE) and cis-1,2-dichloroethylene (cis-1,2-DCE), with PCE and TCE exceeding EPA’s maximum contaminant levels (MCLs). Site investigations are ongoing. A treatment system is already in place for the Orange Water Department to remove site-related contaminants and provide the community with safe drinking water.
