Superfund Site Profile

The Fort George G. Meade (FGGM) site is located in northwestern Anne Arundel County, Maryland, along the Little Patuxent and Patuxent Rivers, midway between Baltimore, Maryland and Washington, D.C. FGGM has been a permanent Army installation on site since 1917. Site activities, including materials storage and waste disposal activities, contaminated wetlands, soil, sediment, surface water and groundwater with hazardous chemicals. Remedial investigations and remedy construction are underway.
