Background

The three and a half acre Hollingsworth Solderless Terminal Site includes the area where a solderless terminal manufacturing facility operated from 1968 to 1982. EPA placed the site on the Superfund program’s National Priorities List (NPL) in 1983 because of contaminated groundwater and soil resulting from the manufacturing process. EPA and the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) have investigated site conditions and taken steps to clean up the site in order to protect people and the environment from contamination.
