EPA Superfund Program: B.F. GOODRICH, CALVERT CITY, KY

Superfund Site Profile

The 260-acre B.F. Goodrich site is located along Kentucky Highway 1523, one mile northeast of Calvert City in western Kentucky. It includes several active and formerly active chemical plant areas. The site was placed on the Superfund program’s National Priorities List (NPL) in 1983. The eastern portion of the site shares a border with the Airco Superfund site (the “Airco site”). Because of the sites’ shared history and location, potentially responsible parties (PRPs) took Superfund-related cleanup actions at both sites. Following implementation of the site’s long-term remedy, some cleanup activities, such as groundwater treatment and monitoring, are ongoing.
