Superfund Site Profile
The 132-acre Eagle Zinc Co Div T L Diamond site is located in Hillsboro, Illinois. Part of the site is covered by buildings. Active industrial operations at the site ceased in 2003. The site’s remedies have been selected. Investigations to inform the design of the remedies are ongoing. The City of Hillsboro has indicated interest in acquiring the site property for use as an industrial park following cleanup.

EPA is offering a program to train local residents for environmental jobs in the Hillsboro and Montgomery County area. This program will provide participants with three certifications and prepare them for careers in environmental cleanup work. - Job Readiness Skills
- Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (40-hr HAZWOPER)
- CPR/First Aid
- Asbestos Contractor/Supervisor Initial Course (40-hr)
