Background

The St. Louis River site is located at the west end of Duluth, Minnesota, and includes several areas of land next to the St. Louis River and a wide section of the river. The site includes two state-managed Superfund sites known as the St. Louis River/Interlake/Duluth Tar (SLRIDT) site and the U.S. Steel site. The SLRIDT site includes 255 acres of land, boat slips and bays of the St. Louis River.
