Superfund Site Profile

The Yuma Marine Corps Air Station site covers about 3,000 acres in Yuma County, Arizona. In 1990, EPA placed the site on the Superfund program’s National Priorities List (NPL) after chlorinated solvents were detected in a groundwater monitoring well on the station. Following implementation of the remedy, operation and maintenance activities and monitoring are ongoing.
