Superfund Site Profile

The 6,368-acre Travis Air Force Base site is located in Fairfield, California. Activities at landfills, fire training areas, a radioactive burial site and a solvent spill area contaminated groundwater, soil and Union Creek with volatile organic compounds (VOCs), metals and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs). Soil cleanup is complete. Investigations and planning for the site’s final groundwater remedy are ongoing.
