EPA Superfund Program: NORTHWEST TRANSFORMER (SOUTH HARKNESS STREET), EVERSON, WA

Superfund Site Profile

The half-acre Northwest Transformer (South Harkness Street) site is located in Everson, Washington. The Northwest Transformer Service Company operated a transformer reclamation, storage and manufacturing facility on the site until its bankruptcy in 1987. Site activities and waste disposal practices contaminated soil with polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) and heavy metals. Following cleanup, EPA took the site off the Superfund program’s National Priorities List (NPL) in 1997. No additional cleanup actions are required at the site.
